FC-01x Future Cities (Self-Paced) - Exercise 1 : "Making the Invisible - Visible"
Uploaded on 2020-08-06 by Laura Martinez
My name is Laura MartÃnez and I am from Caracas, Venezuela. The photo I uploaded is the view of the Caracas Valley from the East taken from my apartment. Among the visible information that can be observed we have: The presence of natural elements, rivers, mountains, and green areas, the height of buildings and their construction materials, location of highways, avenues and streets. On the other hand, among the invisible information, we have: The location of the centers for crime, or the perception of the urban image of citizens about their spaces. Thus, for example, the visualization of the places most likely to occur some type of crime such as robberies, can allow the police forces of the city and the municipality, strengthen these spaces to avoid criminal activities and improve the quality of life of their population. Also, citizens' perception of the urban image (cleanliness, security, lighting, comfort) can help design more livable spaces.
