Hi, my name is Tuan. My top 5 criteria that I believe can contribute the most to a city’s livability are: Safety, Housing, Job Opportunities, Economy and Climate. I am currently living in Chicago, USA. I have moved here from Canberra, Australia to work as an architect. Chicago has always been a great emblem of American Architecture with so much history. Its economy is always strong and thriving. Chicago can get very cold in winter but other seasons are beautiful. I would rate Chicago 70/100 for my ideal livability. One strategy I would implement at where I live is to redesign the roads to allow bike-friendly paths as well as decrease car speed limit in high pedestrian zones. Reduce parking spaces in high pedestrian zones to discourage the use of cars. I would also improve local public transportation with more frequent trips and renew stations for better safety, better street lighting and increase police shifts. If I were to move to another place to settle, I would choose Canberra, Sydney or Melbourne in Australia to live. These places fit most of my livability criteria with Safety being the most importance. After that are Job Opportunities, Economy, Climate and Housing.
