1. The dominant fossil fuels used in my country is Coal, closely followed by Oil. 2. Coal is mainly used for power production. 3. India is a tropical country with vast possibility for Solar PV as well as for Wind, Wave and Tidal energy considering its vast shoreline. However, the major problem faced by India is poor efficiency and transmission losses. There is also the newly discovered shale gas deposits that remain untapped. The new policy would focus on increasing efficiency as well as migrating into a larger percentage of renewable, non-polluting sources of energy. It would also focus on increasing the energy efficiency of the urban areas and thus reduce consumption by responsible design and planning taking into account the microclimatic conditions.
