I would really much like to walk or take the bus while going to university. However, both of these options have some important shortfalls. Walking is not feasible due to the very hot climate we have during the summer (about 46 degrees in the afternoon). Plus, while all my carry-nos and the fact that there are no safe pedestrians routes from my home to the university force me to leave the option of walking to the university. Taking the bus is not a good option as well. Buses are not really reliable in terms of timing, my travel time could range between 30 min to over 2 hours. In order to gurantee getting to the university on time, I have to get up at least 3 hours before which is not convenient. Plus, I have to walk for not so short of a distance which results in all of the issues mentioned above. I take my private car, as it is the best way to have safe, reliable, and convenient way of travel. I try my best to take friends and family with me whenever possible to decrease the number of private cars on the road as I can.
