Hi, usually I walk to my office, which takes approximately 20 minutes. I have 4 main alternatives that I want to compare regarding travel time, walking distance, traffic, social aspects, environment, health and fincancial aspects. When walking the traffic barely affects me and I enjoy the quiet walk in the morning and busier streets and parks in the evenings. Also I feel more energized when sticking with this exercise daily. With a bike I would have similar benefits. However, the traffic affects me more and the financial effects of purchasing and sustaining a decent bike are a factor. Taking the tram would not increase my commuting time significantly, since I have to walk to/from the station anyways. Also, in Germany the ticket prices are quite high and the comfort level in the trams is not good at all. Lastly, there is the option to go by car, which is the worst in my opinion. Benefits are the fact that the weather does not affect you and you can carry more items to/from the office. However, it is bad for the pocket and the environment! Thanks much from Cologne, Chris
