The five most livable cities I know: -Copenhagen -Washington DC -Bay Area in San Francisco -Barcelona -Paris Five characteristics that make a city livable. -security -efficient transportation -bike lanes -access to housing -clean environment My city Santiago, Chile, meets several of the above described features, such as bicycle paths and efficient transportation. However, it lacks better security, access to housing and a clean environment. Public transportation is efficient, thinking in a metro system that moves about 2 million people daily. In total, the metropolitan region is home to a population of 8 million, almost 50% of the entire population of the country. Centralism has caused an increase in demand for housing. Over the years, the price of the square meter has increased considerably and access to housing has become difficult for the population. In this sense, the main change should be made in order to improve subsidy programs to ensure access to housing. The main obstacle to sustainability is air pollution. The photo shows Santiago in winter. Being an enclosed valley, smog tends to accumulate to concentrations that exceed the standards. The greatest change should through policies aimed at achieving a transformation from current vehicles towards electric transportation.
