1. I would measure maximum UHI intensity in Milan city center and then in a natural/rural area in the surroundings. 2. In the evening or night, or anyway after sunset. 3. I would keep the sensors at around 2 meters from the ground level, away from walls, buildings or similar elements. 4. The temperature difference is around 4-5°C. 5. I think the weather has a relevant impact on the UHI magnitude; it's summertime and it's been sunny for days, while the wind speed was perceived higher outside the city. The difference is mainly due to the higher temperature determined by the building curtains with relatively high thermal mass compared to a broader and windier setting in the not urban area. 6. Provide more open public spaces, increase the amount of trees and vegetation, design and build new developments in a more sustainable approach, spread knowledge and concepts regarding this topic in the population in order to make them aware of its consequences and "plant seeds" to make them more involved in the governmental and municipal decisions in the future.
