2. I live in New Delhi, India. UHI is caused by uncontrollable pollution, increase in construction activities (high rise-high density model) and traffic - due to ever growing population) and decrease in vegetation and flora. 3. Few measures like introducing more green spaces or implementing policies of no cutting of trees etc, innovating low heat measures for the built environment and looking into the traffic laws - promoting the public infrastructure for inter and intra state movement. 4. Environment protection act looks over this issue. NMGI, EC, CPCB are other such missions.
