The "Must have" characteristics of a city are: 1. Basic resources (Food and water). 2. Comfortable, well distributed, warm shelter. 3. Sustainability (Economic, environmental). 4. Renewable constant energy, heat energy. 5. Happines, security, culture of community. The five best cities (10/10) in the world according to my ranking are: 1. Copenhagen 2. Toronto 3. Melbourne 4. Zurich 5. London Why? Because all of these cities have are known to be part of the most wealth, sustainable, and happy cities nowadays.I live in Quito, Ecuador. My city is part of a developing country, so it is not part of the 100 liveable cities, or maybe even the 500 liveable cities. But in a future, with better planning, good politicians, new technology and local investigators developing it to its max potential, maybe it could be called one of the best places to live. The problem with my city is the lack of sustainable options for transportation, material and food production, and transportation. Also the security is very low, due to robbery and poverty, (not everywhere). And finally I think Quito is located in a fine territory, but its desing on it is not as great as it could be. Quito is 4/10.
