I consider Climate and Environment as the same. I also group Infrastructure with Sanitation Standards and Transportation since sewers and roadways are part of the public infrastructure. In Canada, I take International Connectivity as a given, and so have not included it in my thought process. As I'm able to work remotely from anywhere, Job Opportunities don't factor in. Neither Political Stability nor the Economy is of concern to me in Canada. Accordingly, my top 5 rankings: 1. Environment/Climate 2. Infrastructure/Sanitation/Transportation 3. Safety 4. Housing 5. Recreation I rate my personal home at 78 and the city as 67. The city is working on several initiatives to improve it's ranking on my personal scale. I would have them add homeowner grants or rebates for things like installing renewable energy, personal stormwater management solutions, and living walls or green roofs to encourage more sustainable living. If I were to move, the same 5 qualities would play an important role in my decision. I'd consider: 1. Melbourne, Australia 2. West Kelowna, Canada 3. Guelph, Canada Melbourne has the added incentive of beloved family members who are already there, so it's already a home away from home. photo: xeriscaping in the yard
