The most livable cities are: Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Zurich, Singapore and Stockholm The five characteristics that make a city more livable are: Economic stability for citizens, availability of natural resources (clean water and air), public policies and road infrastructure that support the use of sustainable modes of transport (encouraging the use of public transport), quality in infrastructure and provision of public network services (water, electricity and gas) and accessibility to essential activities at walkable distances. The city where I live is Maracay (Venezuela), currently my country is going through a economic crisis in which hyperinflation predominates so there is no economic stability. Maracay also called "Garden City" has numerous green areas available, which guarantees good air quality. The use of private vehicles predominates in the city, so it is not aligned with sustainable modes of transport. The quality of the infrastructure and the provision of public network services in the city is poor due to the mismanagement. Finally, Maracay has sectors which access to essential activities is guaranteed at walkable distances. The characteristics that can be changed in the short term in Maracay are the implementation of public policies and investment in road infrastructure that encourage the sustainable transport modes.
