The picture taken from the square of Solna in Stockholm, where i live. On the left side we are seeing;4 new residential buildings with shops at the entrance level and a small scale public park. On the right side; we are seeing a kiosk, the metro entrance. Finally at the very background of the picture we are seeing public bus stop. This square is a busy connection point day and night to everyone. It is widely used as a main artery when interchanging between stations to reach home/work or other parts of Stockholm. Solna has many inhabitants mainly young families with small children. In the last 20 years, related with new job opportunities,it invited new inhabitants. As the population increased, newer residential buildings and offices were built and this raised the property values which led to the gentrification. The non-homogenous economical distribution within the town can be visualied by two maps drawn based on economical distribution and the age/quality of the existing buildings. In case we have an overlapp, this information can help us to plan to provide more economical social housing to host people from lower income level in a more sustainable and humanistic circumstances with cheaper architectural solutions.
