1. There are no existing Citizen Design Science projects in my area. Inputs are sought from stakeholders only when their property/life is disrupted because of some new city project. These generally are very small in scale and don't necessarily give out the desired results. Most planning happens on a scientific level without any citizen involvement. 2. If safety was the concern in certain areas, then the problems should be addressed in multiple phases. One, install alternate "safer" paths for safety in the short term, install surveillance and a check posts in the medium term. In the long run, try to modify the neighborhood to increase traffic/movement in the area by introducing parks/commercial establishments. 3. Data collection should be open and voluntary. In the long run, citizens should be convinced that data sharing is for the good for their community. Apart from this, engaging with local stakeholders to evaluate what projects have the most impact on them, picking those up.
