I was part of a project from the University that was supposed to tackle the safety issues of some areas of my hometown. In this map, it is higlighted an area close to a residential area that is occupied my around 20 homeless families. People in the vecinity are really afraid of walking by due to this situation and the amount of trash. the study group was involved in knowing these families, the residents and the commercial building around it. It was discovered from direct interviews that the homeless got the trash from the recycled bins in the residential and commercial areas to sell it afterwards. although we can not solve the housing issue, which involves an enormous amount of politics and bureacracy, we could think in getting support from some companies to build a easy to assemble structure to help them sort the recycled materials and involve the residents in a cycle around the recycled trash.
