1. Checked 2. I live in San Jose (Costa Rica), a tropical and warm city. Currently 7 out of 10 people live in urban parts of the country(2011). Increasing the temperature of the city in 1.60 °C since 1960. This is product of high areas of concrete and asphalt in the cities and elevating the night temperature and change in local winds. It can end in a greater demand for energy as the city becomes hotter. 3. I would like to also propose green networks that would enhance the overall benefits for the whole country, in 3 parts. First regional through of natural and semi-natural forest areas, and buffer belts. Then in the city by means of river corridors, parks and green corridors. Finally in the neighborhoods from green areas, green and vertical routes. 4. Yes I believe that UHI is a concern in my area and action is being taken. Currently there is a project called “Rutas Naturbanas” that is a green corridors through out the main rivers in the city thats is meant for active mobilisation in the city and connection with nature.
