The construction sector is evolving each day with the help of constant new innovation and technological advancement. India has been practicing the traditional construction methods from very long time and globalized economy in building construction have played vital role in evolving this sector. In addition to that, latest research in this field have enabled Indian construction sector to adopt latest trends and practices without any inconvenience. Among all the new trends, I will like to address the PT beam concept in building a commercial buildings in a commercial project of surat city. I had privilege to practically understand this concept during my bachelor's degree internship. PT beams are used to provide more strength to slab and increase load-bearing capacity of the whole slab. PT cables are spiral which are put inside hollow aluminum tendon. These PT cables are installed parallel to the reinforcement bar and they act as a beam to support the slab and distribute the load. In India tradition reinforced beam, columns and slabs are casted where the grade of concrete and reinforcement is changed as per requirement. However, this practice is getting adapted for longer span length slabs to provide untroubled floor space and parking facilities.
