Hello, I am Sahit, here mentioning about Vijayawada,AndhraPradesh,India. 1.The visible information includes : Vijayawada,a tier 2 city with 61.88 sq km area, nearly 16 lakh population, with 1264.24 km of road network with rapid urbanization. 2.Invisible information : (a)Rapid slum growth (b)Traffic issues 3.Rapid Slum Growth : As urbanization grows,we may expect that slums will tend to grow even faster especially in developing countries like India.Vijayawada being business center of the state has migrants constantly but seen rapid urbanization since 2016 as it was adjacent to capital city AMARAVATI. Slums are perceived as a hindrance if a city is dreaming of a world-class image and the government often takes initiatives to clear them. Alternatively, they can be viewed as partial solutions as they demonstrate innovative shelters and efficient livelihood strategies, which form an important part of the urban ecosystem. A major chunk of informal employment is from the slums. So instead of eradicating, slums should be taken into consideration before planning of the city. By creating models based on slum maps with all data using geospatial and survey techniques,we can attain knowledge that can contribute to the planning of more livable urban space.
