1. Housing Health Care Recreation Possibilities Transportation Environment 2. For the last 3 years I´ve been living in Valdivia, a small city in southern Chile. I moved from Austria to Chile together with my Chilean husband. 5 reasons why I live in Valdivia, Chile: Scholarship agreement (mandatory return to Chile of my husband) Family Job Opportunities Culture (opportunity to learn language) Safety 3. Thanks to its recreational possibilities I would say Valdivia scores 50 points on the scale of my ideal livability criteria. Housing: 30/100 (expensive, bad quality) Health Care: 40/100 Recreation Possibilities: 80/100 (urban wetlands, kayak and bird watching close to the city) Transportation: 50/100 Environment: 50/100 (air pollution) TOTAL: 50 General livability score: 60/100 4. I would improve the thermal insulation of houses and change heating systems to pellets or other environmental friendly options. This would have a direct impact on the well-being and health of the inhabitants, but also on the environment due to lower air pollution. The measure would reduce respiratory diseases. 5.
