1. Safety Education Culture Environment Job Opportunities 2. I live in New York City and I live here because of the opportunity it provides. The 5 main reasons why I live here are: Culture and diversity Accessibility to top education, healthcare, food, art Job Opportunities Safety Environmental safety/Climate/Coast 3. My place of residence is ranked: Culture and diversity - 20/20 Accessibility to top education, healthcare, food, art - 18/20 Job Opportunities -15/20 Safety - 20/20 Environmental safety/Climate and accessibility to the coast/beach/waterfront - 16/20 Total: 89/100 The general livability score for NYC provided by AARP is 60/100, however I would rank it as 85/100. 4. If I were mayor, the first measure I would take to improve livability would be to provide stronger programs to encourage small businesses. The city is a wonderful place to live because of its culture which is based on one thing, the individuals that contribute to it. It's increasingly difficult for these places and people to continue because of high rent and the ongoing issue of gentrification. 5.
