This is a street in Mumbai. It can be noticed that this street has mixed land use including residential, institution (school), and a park (huge park in the city centre, famous spot). There is a high demand for parking in this area and heavy traffic during peak hours causing congestion. By gathering information about the travel behaviour, urban functions, and spatial structures there can be a solution to address this issue of congestion. Understanding how different activities happen throughout the day, how or when people access different land uses, and which land use has higher concentration would help further analyse the situation. Restrictions for peak time no parking, dynamic parking pricing, or finding alternate locations for can be applied as per analysis. Understanding the purpose and frequency of travel of people would help in design the land use for cities. Having mixed use neighbourhoods helps avoid unnecessary travel and help reduce congestion in cities which is a major issue. This would also promote walkable neighbourhoods.
