My Neighborhood App The app will be used in a way which enables the usage of IoT. Once the app is installed, based on one’s current location and one’s location throughout the day real time data through the user will be recorded and used as a way to generate information for the city. This data can be used as a way of documenting, mapping, sourcing information, problem solving, and most importantly a platform for citizen engagement, participation and co-creation in matters of the city. The aim of the app is to generate big and small data (qualitative as well as quantitative data). The app will have the capacity to record/monitor concerns and grievances, assess tangible as well as intangible data, be used as a mode of emergency service/helpline, provide real-time information regarding essential services, traffic situation, track public transport such as buses and auto’s within the vicinity, etc. Although a very few things have been mentioned in the app, a lot more parameters can be added to make the data/information more holistic.
