Energy: Oil products is the dominant fuel, which is mainly used as bunker fuel; Water, Hong Kong has been importing water from Dongjiang River in Southern China since 1965, which provides 70-80% of the city's water supply; Food: 90% of the total food supply in Hong Kong is imported food, which 94% of fresh pork, 100% of fresh beef, 92% of vegetables and 66% of eggs in Hong Kong come from the Mainland. In the future, it is expected to increase the production of food in Hong Kong, and eventually decrease the dependence on China in terms of food. This is way far to make Hong Kong self-sufficient on food production, but firstly decreasing the portion of food import from China, by importing more food from other Asian countries could make a difference.
