Argentina produces both cement and steel, so reinforced concrete is mostly a local material. But curtain wall facades, as well as particular shapes of glass, have to be imported. Looking at this photo of a building in Buenos Aires, the first thing that caught my eye was the shape of the balconies. The curved glass, as said before, requires certain materials and construction processes that are not made locally, but are imported from other regions such as Asia. This shows an example of how a building is the result of a globalized process.
