Top 5 livable cities in the world are as follows: 1. Zurich - Switzerland 2. Vienna - Austria 3. Melbourne - Australia 4. Munich - Germany 5. Prague - Czech Republic My top 5 factors for a livable city: 1. Mobility and access (public service and transportation) 2. Safety (the political and social environment) 3. Qualitiy of life (medical and health, also pollution) 4. Happiness (recreation and activities) 5. Socio-cultural 1. While Pretoria does have a form of public transport, it is not the easiest to understand and it also is not the safest way to travel. There are issues with over crowding, and then there is the price factor. To travel using the safer form of public transport it is very expensive. The public transport also has moments where it is not functioning at all, it is completely unreliable. So Pretoria needs to improve on this, with huge steps. I am currently living in South Korea where the transport system functions effectively and efficiently, and with this I can see the difference. 2. Pretoria at the moment is not the safest area to live, there are high crime rates in the city and at the same time there is also corruption happening in some of the police departments. Which creates a distrust with the political system. People live in a bubble where they have faith that they are safe and yet are constant vigilant. This needs attention, but at the same time the political system is broken and people are losing faith in the government. 3. The medical and health system in Pretoria is good if you earn a decent amount of money, however if you are earning the basic salary it is very bad. This is something that needs to be looked at. The quality of life is good if you are the top minority, however for the majority of people they are living in a survival pattern. 4. There are a fair amount of activities to do in and around the city. But they are not always the cleanest and well looked after places. But there are areas where it is very close to being a good system. 5. One of the biggest problems is the socio-cultural aspect. There is still a fair amount of racism that happens, and this is a big issue.
