I was not able to attach the image of the bengaluru city as only one image could be attached. This image is of a nearby village Nagasandra near Bengaluru. Some of the UHI effects compared between these two settings are that Nagasandra has more cool climate when compared to Bengaluru city. Bengaluru has a lot of high density buildings close by because of which there is a lack of ventilation which in turn increases the temperature of the city. As observed from the image, the houses here are mostly one floor buildings with a lot of space between each house. Another effect which can be observed is presence of vegetation.Due to all these reasons the city temperature is more than that of its rural setting. Measures to propose: i) Provide shading of roofs as the buildings are exposed for the entire daytime. ii) Car pooling services for transportation. Use of bicycles for transportation and encouraging pedestrian pathways. iii) Offices should have adequate ventilation in the facade itself so that air conditioning units are not used. iv)Reducing waste generation and applying proper disposal methods. Iam not aware of any UHI policy in my city
