1. Population density – a lower value would place less demand on resources and infrastructure. 2. CO2 emissions – lower values of this would naturally imply less number of private vehicles and increased use of public transportation.. 3. Waste minimisation – reduced waste means less waste ending up in landfills and more wider recycling followed in the city. 4. Water conservation – water efficiency and reduced per-capita water consumption would enable less ground water consumption. 5. Energy conservation – generate renewable forms of energy to avoid over dependence of grid electricity. Following are characteristics shall be improved for my City Bangalore in India to become a Future, liveable and sustainable city 1. Population density – This would place less demand on resources and infrastructure. This would ultimately reduce the urban sprawl and reduce urbanisation of natural habitats 2.CO2 emissions – Creation of multimodal transportation facilities and smart / intelligent traffic management 3.Waste minimisation – This will have positive impact on soil and water acidification and improving the quality of soils 4.Water conservation – enable less ground water consumption and saving quality of surface waters resources such as lakes and rivers; 5. Energy conservation – generate renewable forms of energy
