2. The main effects of UHI in Lahore include heat waves, heat stress, increased incidence rates of heat strokes, heat rashes, longer and more intense summer season, climate change, unpredictable weather, and change in rain patterns. I will be comparing the city (Lahore) and its outskirts in the same attached Google image to give a better idea. Within the red line is my city (Lahore) and is a concrete jungle. The city’s growth on the north side is restricted by a ring road and closer to the city fringe, there's a huge difference in the landscape. The city fringe is cooler at night time compared to the city. This is also because of the agricultural activity near the fringe. 3. Promote Urban forests and urban farming. Additionally, I'd propose developing wider road median and planting suitable plants on those road medians on every major road. 4. Yes, 1 Billion Tree project completed in KPK province, "Punjab Urban and Peri-Urban Forest Policy” in Punjab province, 10 Billion tree project in while country (Pakistan), and "Clean and Green Lahore" drive in my city. The authorities are providing free tree saplings. Trees are being planted in all government buildings officially as well.
