I have chosen to describe the important guidelines for CDS Projects. These guidelines would be based on: -Inclusion and ease of use -Security -Integrity and Transparency Inclusion and ease of use would cover clauses like usability of any software for a wide range of citizens. This includes older citizens (possibly not used to newer technology), children, and citizens with visual and/or auditory disabilities. Including those citizens in CDS Projects is essential as they can shed light on needs/ observations that most of us overlook. This basis would also cover compatibility of software between different platforms that the citizens may use – eg – some use Android whilst others use iOS. It is important to include everyone in the study. Security covers the obvious issues with software integration. Any software that is used must be very secure – both from viruses and data loss. The latter becomes an issue of higher priority as the data collected would be personal and often revealing (eg – location, habits etc). It is important to provide the many users with a safe platform that can be used without second thoughts. Integrity and transparency covers the final set of guidelines for a CDS Project. This includes a project description (as a basis), with time frames and objectives included. The user must be fully aware of what is being asked of them, and what they get out of the project as a result. Allowing the user to be updated, with timely completion of a given project creates trust within the user base and increases the success rate of any future project. Allowing the user to see the results of their participation strengthens that bond.
