Top livability criteria: political stability; safety; economy; infrastructure; healthcare Moved to Ottawa a decade ago for job opportunities; education; culture; safety; culture; recreation Would not score Ottawa highly relative to what I expected - 20/100; 40/100; 30/100; 70/100; and 35/100 For general livability, I would also downgrade my expectations in Ottawa: economy 70/100; healthcare 30/100; infrastructure (including transportation) 30/100; safety 70/100; and political instability/change having a disproportionate negative effect in the national capital in terms of infrastructure and other decision-making for residents 90/100 The transportation problems are worsening, highlighted by long and frustrating commutes and infrastructure builds long over-due - ***in lieu of submitted photo*** please see Ottawa Star story of massive sinkhole in downtown Ottawa while trying to build light-rail (virtually absent in the National Capital): https://www.thestar.com/news/canada/2016/06/08/road-collapses-in-downtown-ottawa.html - no longer accessible for photo-taking*** If the mayor could make one positive change it would be rapid and effective expansion of transportation/infrastructure builds, which have been behind schedule and are being built-in seemingly as an after-thought with little physical room to build within already over-capacity areas and corridors and among historical zones with historical conservation limitations in effect.Longer-range, strategic planning would benefit residents greatly in coming decades. 5 I would consider relocating to the following: Zurich - for safety, infrastructure, recreation, healthcare, culture Vermont - safety, infrastructure, education, economy, healthcare Sweden - healthcare, economy, education, infrastructure, culture
