I live in St. Catharines (Niagara Region) in Ontario, Canada. The main reasons why I live here according to my Top Livability Criteria are influenced by the Economy, Housing and the Environment. Ontario’s capital city, Toronto is currently experiencing great growth with increasing housing prices. After University I had the option to move to Toronto for a job opportunity or to move back to Niagara with my parents for a different job opportunity. Even though I pictured myself moving to Toronto after school due to the upbeat, vibrant city life, I had chosen to move to Niagara for financial reasons, to save money and because renting prices are very high in the downtown core of Toronto. I also have the stability of a home with my family which was appealing. My job also also influenced where I live, which is also an economic factor. I am an urban planner at a planning consulting firm that specializes in land development.
