For this task I chose Moscow where I live. Unfortunately, there is no such a website for Russian cities, but I found information on Moscow UHI in an article by Lokoshchenko and Sorokina. They state that the UHI is on average +2.8 ˚C with maximum +7.7 ˚C, which is less than in Washington, D.C (+4.7 ˚C on average). The photos taken by me explain the difference - dense high buildings in the centre lacking any green shield VS natural parks in the suburbs (and it is also a rural area, I live there in a block of flats!). Being a Moscow mayor I would plant more trees in the central streets that would protect buildings and pedestrians at least from the Sun radiation and provide oxygen (nowadays it is more popular to use plastic trees as decorations there). Policymakers don't focus on UHI, this concept is almost unfamiliar for them, so no measures to decrease its effect are considered.
