Unfortunately, the site has no information about my city, as I live in Moscow (Russia). In my opinion, the most obvious reasons for UHI is a large concentration of cars in the city, more dense buildings and, in principle, a large population density. In order to solve this problem, it is necessary to use certain design and materials for the construction of buildings, certain systems of control, lighting, cooling. Frankly speaking, earlier I didn't plunge into this problem and I can't tell, whether there are any solutions developed at the city level on the matter.
