this image shows the heavy traffic typical of any hill station or a tourist place. similar is the case with Mussoorie, a hill station in northern India. This city with a permanent inhabitants of close to 30000, gets more than 25lacs tourist every year. so this picture shows the visible, long traffic jams and lack of parking areas. what is invisible here is the resultant load on the ecology, amount of waste generation and other requirements of infrastructure and services. there is a large scarcity of water, inability to deal with the solid and liquid waste generation. the city and surrounding ecosystem is way pat its carrying capacity and leave the ecology and people extremely vulnerable.
