Out of 10 the cities I experienced and rank are Amsterdam (8), Edinburgh (8), Paris (7), Rome (6), Athens (4) and Istanbul (2). Safety, natural environment and public spaces, socio-cultural and political environment, economic environment, transport network and facilities. Athens is my hometown and is a city which has lost a lot of points in this ranking list during the years. In Athens there is a sense that police is in the most of time decorative. Τhe reason there are not major crimes are from Greek people who recently formed their families from the hinterlands to the city. Although in specific areas drug dealing and light forms of terrorism is formed concerning the citizens with the present Government to be unable and indifferent to take action. The significant amount of national people flow and the poor urban planning lead to the construction of areas with great density and insufficient green urban spaces. However three mountains are surrounding Athens which every year are in danger from wildfires and poor surveillance, one is already burnt. Socio-cultural and education is depended on the above characteristics resulting a dreary image of a Western city. Ethics, investments and science could change Athens.
