Two commutes: one to university with more options in Coventry, and one to my internship location back home in Singapore (please see image for details) Key factors that affect happiness: time required, scenery, price, number of transfers, weather To university: walking is the slowest, but the cheapest. The view is also much better - although I'm not always awake to appreciate it in the morning, it is beautiful on the way home. However in winter I sometimes prefer to take an uber because the wind chill makes walking rather uncomfortable. The bus is in a strange place as it's not cheap and rarely fits my schedule, therefore is rarely the commute of choice. To work: essentially taking a bus to the train station, then taking a train, then walking again. There are other possible alternatives: taking a different bus to near work (which involves about 20 minutes of walking) is one, but the traffic is unpredictable in the morning. Driving or taking a taxi are also technically possible, however barely save time due to the traffic and work out to be far more expensive. In Singapore, I prefer shorter, multiple walks because of the heat.
