Energy, in Hobart, is taken from state hydroelectricity plants. Electricity is essential for heating in Hobart’s colder climate. In other, generally more rural, places in Tasmania wood would be used for heating but this is not practical in the city. The energy that comes into Hobart stays until consumed. Food Is a large part of the Hobart economy. Hobart has an extensive seafood industry as well as several breweries and lot of local farm produce. While Hobart produces much food, a lot of it is freighted to other places in the country or exported. Much of the food consumed in Hobart is not local. People are one of the most important and interesting stocks and flows of Hobart. At the moment, there is an inflow of people. One of the impacts of this is an increase of homelessness. Energy - The source of the energy ideally would be one that is less disruptive to the Tasmanian environment. Food – More of the local food should be consumed in Hobart and less exported. People – The city should develop to accommodate for this inflow of people. Especially in a smaller city such as Hobart a larger population should be possible
