Step 1: 1. Hamburg 2. Den Haag 3. Bonn 4. Amsterdam 5. New York Step 2: 1. Access to Nature / Rivers / Coast 2. Safety 3. Climate 4. Culture 5. Public Transport Step 3: I live in Bonn/Germany. It’s quite good here. 1. The River Rhine is close to most places, also there are parks and the seven hills and forest areas close by. 2. The city is quite safe and has not many social hot spots. 3. Climate is intermediate. Summer and Winter are not very extreme, but the humidity and the allergic climate could be better. 4. Culture is ok (opera house, theaters, Bars, Museums) but the cool nightlife is in the larger City of Cologne nearby. That’s not a big problem because Cologne is easy to reach via 5. Public Transport. It contains a lot of bus, tram and train lines including access to the german high speed train network. Also there are three international Airports and a lot of Highway connections close by. To increase sustainability, it would be great to 2. modernize the public housing at the few social hotspots 4. Allow more (open air) events by the sub culture activists/artists. Events are at the moment highly regulated due to super strict noise reduction 5. reduce the costs of public transport to get more people from their cars into the public transport system.
