Unfortunately, I do not have concrete data that show the difference in temperature between the center of the city where I live and its rural area. However, it is clearly felt an increase in temperature in the central region, where the presence of large buildings and formation of urban canyons is evident. I chose to present an image of the center of the city of Uberlândia and another image of the suburb, where I live. It is possible to feel a temperature difference between the two points of the city, not only by the difference in the type and pattern of the buildings, but also by the more evident presence of tress in the suburbs. The center of the city has some square areas with breathers where there is a drop in temperature and the feeling of thermal comfort is better for the resident. However, these spaces have become increasingly rare. Already in the suburbs, as said, the distance between buildings, even required by local legislation, and the presence of trees, makes the region healthier.
