Picture of Managua taken from: http://www.citiestips.com/view/-129295 In my country, Citizen Design Science Projects are not a common approach, most of the times projects are made by experts, not allowing citizens or users to share their opinions, therefore, the urban design of the city has and creates many problems to the day to day life. I believe one possible Citizen Design Science Project could be a Cohousing Building, which would create a new type of housing in Nicaragua and at the same time, it would allow the citizens, in this case the users of the building, to take charge of the management of the building, from its design (with the help of experts) to making sure the project is working properly. This is actually my thesis project, what I plan to do is make meetings, interviews and surveys to the users in every phase of the project, gathering information from the surveys and interviews will help me to better understand what exactly the future users of this project want and need. Whether is aimed to students, elderly or families in general, being in contact with them will help me to find the best solutions to any problem/challenge the project faces.
