Most livable cities 1. Montreal 2. Copenhagen 3. Vancouver 4. San Francisco 5. Melbourne Key factors that make a city livable are: 1. Potable drinking water 2. Reduced noise in residential areas 3. Access to public transportation 4. Access to higher education 5. Overall safety and security Montreal is an extremely livable city by the key factors I've listed above. Crime is relatively low in Canada, and for a city of its size Montreal has lower crime rates. The drinking water is potable and rarely has boiling advisories. Public transportation is one of the best in the world and it has low financial burdens on higher education. The public transportation could be better with increased metro stations, and if the civil infrastructures were repaired in a timely manner. The noise in residential areas could be decreased by having better management of the thoroughfares. Safety and security has never been an issue for me but could also always be better. The access to higher education is good but can be costly to some and the language laws limit many potential candidates from accessing education which could be fixed with new laws pertaining to the official language.
