1. 2. I live in a big city, over 3 million people live in it. There are many buildings and gas emissions (cars, buses, trains that are not electric but fuel dependent). Although there are green areas, and they try to plant more trees, it might not be just enough. Green buildings need to be considered for the future constructions (there are a lot of new buildings I don't have access to information regarding the UIH effect. But in places near the downtown (as we call it "microcentro") area, the heat is considerably higher than areas surrounding by green areas. 3. I would try to convince Congress to pass a law that emphasizes the importance of new standards of construction (materials that help reduce de UIH effect). As well, to investigate the use of renewable energy, mainly in public transport. 4. Unfortunately, I don't know of any particular policy that addresses the problem as its core issue.
