The United States uses oil, natural gas, and coal. Fossil fuels are primarily used for transport. In order to improve this, I would focus on the transportation sector by adding a carbon tax and by promoting urban walkability and transit through transit-oriented, mixed-use development in place of single use segregated zoning. I would also try to double energy production from wind, solar, and hydro as well as promoting new battery technology to store the energy.
