Part 2 I live in Dubai, UAE, A desert country, known for its heat and high temperature. The city is also effected by UHI: 1. Ample multi lane concrete roads and bridges 2. Lack of greenery 3. A lot of concrete construction 4. Un-shaded pavements 5. A lot of HVAC systems running all the time 6. A lot of private car users The hinterland of the city is mostly covered with desert sand, as seen in the photo. Part 3 I would propose: 1. Reduction of unnecessary bridges, and easing access to public transport so that the dependency on large multi laned roads are reduced 2. Planting trees 3. Providing more shades to the pavements 4. More sustainable HVAC systems, and reducing large enclosed spaces that need constant HVAC systems. Part 4 At the moment it is not
