Part 1 1. Job Opportunities 2. Infrastructure 3. Safety 4. Sanitation Standards 5. Political Stability Part 2 I am a resident of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. I chose to live here because: 1. Most of my family and relatives live here 2. There are ample job opportunities 3. It is safe 4. Most of the city is clean, however residents litter the city and so government hires outsiders to clean the city with minimum wage (even lower than minimum wage). 5. Infrastructure is constantly renovated and new roads added (not always good though) Part 3 The city fulfills 80% of my ideal livability criteria. Knowing that nowhere can be perfect this number works for me! The governments make a lot effort to make it a perfect place, which includes people not living in a sustainable way. Sustainability still did not get the attention it needs in this city. Part 4 Introduce the resident to the concept of the 3Rs: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. Make pavements that are actually walk able, by adding trees and other shading methods so people can avoid the sharp heat. Make bicycle lane, improve the public transport even further. At the moment, without a car, you really cannot get anywhere in Dubai Part 5 Calgary, Canada Amsterdam, Netherlands Rome, Italy 1. Less dependency on private car 2. Weather 3. Possibility of being a citizen and having the same benefits as the locals 4. Environment and nature 5. Better job opportunities
