Efficient public transport: bus, metro, train well developed. Public roads well maintained, inputs welcome from the public. Efficient response thereafter. Electrical public scooters could be a next step. Lausanne is experimenting with noise-absorbent road material and limiting to 30Km/hours certain streets from 10pm to 6am. Cultural centres, science, : good balance of 23 museums, close proximity to EPFL, learning centres, opera, active theatre scenes, regular town sports events, markets, music festivals, carnival, lively night life. Lausanne is a very diverse multi-cultural city with a respect for old architecture. Clean air. The development of more energy based on wind could increase the sustainability of the city. Security: overall respect and wellbeing felt in the streets. Security could always be improved at night/week-ends. There remain concerns for a portion of the population in need meeting in the centre of town (alcoholics, hard drug consumption, un-employed/social aid population). More room could be built to accommodate re-habilitation and overall population well-being.
