I live in both Canmore & Calgary, Alberta. 1) The most important things overall from general terms, in my opinion, are: 1. Education (d) because I think that leads to basically all other areas 2. Infrastructure (i) because it generally implies the existence of the other areas 3. Sanitation standards (o) somewhat falls under infrastructure but is generally a base requirement 4. Job opportunities (k) though strong education may help with this, sometimes the landscape is resource limited 5. Climate (a) 2) The reasons I live in Calgary & Canmore are because of: 1. Environment/landscape/recreational possibilities 2. Job opportunities 3. Education (and where I want my children to be educated) 4. Political stability 5. Climate 3) Based on my list in question 1, my ranking out of 100 for Calgary and Canmore for those categories are: 1. Education - 85 2. Infrastructure - 70 3. Sanitation standards - 98 4. Job opportunities - 95 5. Climate - 80 4) Of the factors I could change, it would recommend (just a short list of my top three for "sustainability") 1. More recycle programs or incentives to reduce waste (especially water), or encourage composting 2. More auditing on public sector job efficiency 3. Increase taxes based on number of children 5) My top three general areas/cities would be: 1. Alaska 2. Edmonton 3. Revelstoke for the following traits (from most important to least) 1. Climate 2. Population density 3. Political stability 4. Environment/recreation 5. Infrastructure The photo is from my balcony in Canmore.
