Five most liveable cities in India:- 1. Chandigarh 2. Mumbai 3. Hyderabad 4. Delhi 5. Bengaluru Five characteristics that make a city liveable:- 1. Clean environment and good climate 2. Good healthcare facilities 3. Public and green spaces and a vibrant city culture 4. Last mile connectivity of public transport 5. Robust economy and availability of employment and education opportunities Delhi, the city I currently live in, loses points in the very first criterion mentioned above. The highly polluted environment makes citizens to choke. The huge temperature variation from 2 deg.C to 45 deg.C and irrugular monsoon pattern can be credited to the deforestration in and around Delhi. The city must improve the environmental conditions for its citizens by implementing stricter norms, educating them on the carbon footprint they are creating, and making the public transport more accessible and penetrable.
