FC-01x Future Cities (Self-Paced) - Exercise 1 : "Making the Invisible - Visible"
Uploaded on 2018-12-06 by Brett Patterson
Here are two examples of making the invisible information visible from BIG (Urban) DATA: 1) Pedestrian Mobile Network Data/Google Maps - this data shows almost every move if the end-user has Google Maps and shows the daily commute, stores visited and city areas explored which could be hugely valuable for urban planning or advertisement companies. If the end user does not use Google Maps then Mobile Network Data will be able triangulate the location of the end user for similar use cases. 2) Retail Stores - the POS system used in-store is rich in the data it catches and saves and could be used for improving the buyer experience to urban planning for building structures
