The image shows the M8, a large motorway that shears its way through the centre of Glasgow. It's a transport infrastructure on a national scale, and virtually the one thoroughfare for commuting and travelling across Central Scotland. Being a very car dependant city, Glasgow relies heavily on this piece of infrastructure, and yet it impacts badly the urban tissue, isolating the West and the North from the City Centre, spoiling the views of historical buildings, and killing urban life on its surroundings.
