Traffic emission together with the geographical position of Aachen are the main causes of UHI. There is almost fixed hight of buildings which does not exceed four or five floors.The style of settlement around the city of Aachen is a single family housing and event. Measures i could propose are recycling of construction material and making public transport PT more attractive. I use the bus but as it is over saturated during the peak hours, i would prefer or wish to have car! The city is aware of this issue, even though Aachen is a mid-sized city, and mitigation of UHI is adopted which called climate adaptation concept. Example is having restriction of high emitted cares by settinga high level of environment protected zones in the city centre
